Salt Lake City, Utah—John C. Baxter Passed away peacefully on March 26th 2022 with his family by his side. John was born in Salt Lake city Utah on March 2nd 1935 to Thomas and Marie Baxter. He Married Dorothy Fife on January 18, 1957. John and Dorothy had a great life, spending as much time as they could in the outdoors with their 4 sons. When the boys were young every weekend in the summer Dorothy would load up the camper and John would drive all night so they could spend time as a family in the outdoors, as the boys got older it turned into not only fishing trips but motorcycle riding, or just floating rivers with family and friends too numerous to mention. John possessed an energy level that was the envy of all that knew him, always on the go whether it was work or play he always gave his best, and usually had a funny story to go along with it. He was always available to help his friends & family seldom asking for help in return, he always wanted to prove to himself he could do anything, Except Housework!
He always enjoyed cars and making them run better, he turned that passion into his own business Baxter Auto Haus in Downtown SLC where he worked mainly on Porsches and VW. John took pride in everything he did and he ran the cleanest shop anyone's ever seen, as anyone who slid off his couch in the office can attest, John loved things to be clean and orderly.
John was preceded in death by his brother Tom and his grandson Brandon. Survived by his wife Dorothy their 4 sons and their wives, Timmy & Laura, Jeff & Tonya, Rodney & Francine, Carl & Michelle, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and his loyal Labrador Mugger. There will be a celebration of life at a latter date. One last thing that set John apart from others, Once he gave his word on a deal you could count on him to live up to it. PEROID!
