Beloved husband and father was gathered into God’s arms December 14, 2011. He was born October 16, 1920 in Harwood, Missouri to Mills G. Canada and Louisa A. Cooper. In 1941 he married Dorothy Hafer Canada and they were together for 70 years. He was in the US Navy during WWII. After his service, he joined family members to build a very successful truck and auto parts business, Hafer’s Inc. Harold enjoyed the outdoors, coaching little league baseball and especially loved the time he spent with his family at the cabin on the Smith-Moorhouse River. He served in his church and loved to sing in the choir. He was a member of Fort Douglas Country Club and an avid golfer and bowler. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, four children; Phillip, Michael (Sheila), Carole (Robert) and Douglas (Diane), thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, SLC on Sunday December 18, 2011 from 6pm to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 19, 2011 at Risen Life Church 2780 East 3900 South, SLC beginning at 12:00 p.m. A special thank-you to the staff at the VA Hospital and Spring Creek Rehab.
