Alan Pyper LaMoreaux, 60, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Taylorsville, UT around 5:45pm on Friday September, 21st 2018. Alan was born to Raymond LaMoreaux and Alene Pyper LaMoreaux on June, 1st 1958 at the Holy Cross hospital.
Alan was a lifetime resident in the Salt Lake valley growing up in Sugarhouse, attending Olympus high, and then moved on to his career in construction becoming a heavy machine operator. He met the love of his life in 1984, Gretchen Cameron LaMoreaux; his wife of 34 years.
Alan is survived by his mother Alene LaMoreaux, wife Gretchen LaMoreaux, daughters Shauna LaMoreaux, Jami LaMoreaux-Petersen, and his son Eric LaMoreaux. His children gave Alan his pride and joy found in each of his eleven grand children. Also survived by his only brother Frank LaMoreaux his spouse Debbie LaMoreaux along with their four children. Only to be preceded by his father Raymond LaMoreaux.
Alan would light up the room with his smile. His sense of humor was unmatched, and could bring out a laugh in anyone. He was a shoulder to lean on when life got tough, and he was a wealth of knowledge and good advise. “Big Al” was just that, larger than life, humble, gentle, and confident. He was strong, and passed that strength to everyone he knew. His mind was creative, his hands were his tools, he was truly a master of all trades. He was passionate about his family proud to be a son, brother, husband, father, papa, and friend. He will be profoundly missed.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Saturday September, 29th 2018 at the Jordan Villas club house from 3pm-6pm found at 2117 W. Jordan Villa Dr. West Jordan, UT 84088.
