Thomas Melvin Murphy Sr.

Thomas Melvin Murphy, Sr., 77, of Milford, Delaware entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 13, 2015 in Millsboro, DE. Born November 3, 1937 in Dentsville, MD he was the son of the late Lillian Margaret Alvey and William Sylvester Murphy, Sr. He is survived by three children, Thomas M. Murphy, Jr., and wife Kristine, Donald E. Murphy, and wife Tina, and Margaret M. Hodge and husband Russell; His loving companion, Mary Birch; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters, Lillian Rawlings, Alice Garner, Joyce and Linda Fowler, James, David, Daniel, and Edward Murphy; one sister-in-law, Joan Murphy-Umling. In addition to his parents, Thomas is also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Mary Lou Oliver, Frances Vermillion, William, Paul, Johnny, and Joseph Murphy. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Saint Mary’s Newport Catholic Church Hall, 11555 Saint Mary’s Church Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
