Juanita Rosemon Shrieves, 78, of Salisbury passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. Born May 15, 1938 in Pocomoke City, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Charlie” T. Mears and Mae A. Davis Mears. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Merritt “Junior” W. Shrieves, Jr.; three children, Glen Shrieves and wife Nancy, Greg Shrieves and wife Tracy, Jeff Shrieves and wife Malissa; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several special nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by two sons, Phillip Ray Shrieves, Calvin Lee Shrieves; two sisters, and a brother. Juanita was a member of the Bethany Methodist Church in Pocomoke City for many years. She was a 1956 graduate of Pocomoke High School. The family would like to express their many thanks to the nursing group at Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, especially the care given by her caregiver, Leah. In addition, Coastal Hospice had a tremendous impact on Juanita’s palliative care and the family is most gracious for this organization of great people. A funeral service to celebrate Juanita’s life will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 East Main Street, Salisbury, MD. Burial will be at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
