George Edward “Ed” Parrott, 98, of Quantico passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Quantico he was the son of the late George Edward Parrott, Sr. and Ethel Parrott. He was a United States Navy Veteran having served in WWII. He was employed at H.S. Todd and left to form his own business formerly known as Eastern Shore Candy and Tobacco where he formed many lifelong friends. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Quantico. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working in his vegetable garden. He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Trudy and Gary Mister of Hebron and Dawn and Wayne Cook of Vienna; four grandchildren, Juanita Weber and her fiancée, Lynn Holliday of Cambridge, Mark Darby and wife, Laurie of Hebron, Rick Parrott and wife Teresa of Rockville, Eddie Parrott and wife, Jill and Lisa Parrott all of Salisbury; ten great-grandchildren: Gage Weber, Emily and Evan Darby, Mike, Michelle, Matthew, Aaron, Nathan, Evan and Peyton Parrott; great-great-grandchild, Tucker and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Madalyn Bailey Parrott and son, Albert “Lee” Parrott and his wife Betty. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11AM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Barren Creek Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Ed to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
