Dawn Denise Wright passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, at the age of 60. Dawn was born in Camden, New Jersey on September 10, 1964. Dawn spent most of her life in New Jersey, before moving to Chincoteague Island, VA in 2020.
Dawn was predeceased by her parents, Marylou (Geitz) Winkelspecht and Edward F. Winkelspecht Jr., as well as her late husband, Kenneth (Kenny) Wright. She is survived by her brothers; Kenneth Geitz and Edward Winkelspecht III, sister; Darla Speakman, and her four children; Tiffany Marie Geib, John Joseph Geib III, Steffanie Denise Geib and Brittany Sikiotis. She also leaves behind four stepchildren: including Sabrina Wright, Sean Wright, Joey Wright, and Rebecca Sifuentes, many grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a godson, Ramsey Rivera. Dawn and her late husband Kenny married in 2003 and spent 16 years happily married and madly in love until his unexpected passing in 2019. Dawn and Kenny were always smiling and having fun. They loved having BBQs with friends, going to the Moose Lodge, thrifting, visiting flea markets, traveling, and spending time with each other. Dawn enjoyed watching Kenny as an entertainer, supporting his passion for making people smile and laugh.
Dawn had a very special bond with her niece, Catherine Scott. They were best friends and shared many special experiences together, including traveling, going to country concerts, watching horror movies, and visiting haunted houses. Catherine’s love, loyalty, and support for Dawn was truly beautiful and Dawn was very grateful for their special relationship.
Dawn was loving, kind, generous and enjoyed going on adventures. She was always surrounded by her animals – including her beloved yorkie, Lewie, and her birds, Casper and Percy. She enjoyed creating fairy gardens and watching western tv shows. She had a wonderful group of friends on Chincoteague Island, with whom she loved dearly and spent much of her time with. She enjoyed taking boat tours around the island, going to the local restaurants, and listening to live music.
As per Dawn’s wishes, a private memorial will be held by family and friends to spread her ashes in the Chesapeake Bay (near Chincoteague Island) and in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania.
