David Charles Fields, 82, of Eldersburg and formerly of Salisbury passed away peacefully Monday, February 13, 2023 at his home. He was born in Salisbury, Maryland on February 15, 1940, as the only child of the late David and Adah Fields. He graduated from Wicomico High School in 1958. He was co-captain of the football team for two years.
While Charles was an insurance manager for many years, he was always an entrepreneur at heart with an unquestioned work ethic. He owned the O.C. Bake Shop in the 1970s and later owned Eastern Shore Satellite in Salisbury. He frequented auctions, was an avid tool collector, spent his last years crafting custom model boats, loved camping with Christie and cheering on the Orioles and Ravens.
He is survived by his wife of almost sixty-three years, Christie Carter Fields, his son, Richie Fields (Mette), his son, Tim Fields (Karen), his son, Darren Fields (Becky), fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several close cousins, all of whom he loved dearly.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 18th from 12:00 PM- 1:00 PM at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 E Main St, Salisbury, MD. A graveside funeral service will follow on Saturday at 1:30 PM at Parsons Cemetery, 912 N Division St, Salisbury, MD.
