He enjoyed creating floral designs and decorating houses for Christmas. He was also a long-time volunteer at the White House and Blair House. He was known as the “Blair House Christmas Angel” for his decorating expertise. From a young age, he was an avid collector of presidential memorabilia and also had the opportunity to meet various dignitaries, presidents and their families.
He is survived by brothers, Bruce F. Emge, Timothy J. Emge and wife Kimberlie; sister, Joyce E. Emge and wife Robin Kasemeyer, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel G. Emge.
A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday at 11am at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7231 Richie Highway in Glen Burnie.
