I always enjoyed when Dave would show up at the Halloween fire pit at the Byers’ front yard. He’d always bring a story and share his wonderful (& very much correct) political views about God, family, Country, and GUNS! What a tremendous guy with a heart of gold! Quick witted and salt-of-the earth, he was quick to point out the hypocrisy of our times such as when our policeman neighbor harassed him for driving his four wheeler in the snow (NOBODY was on the street in that storm) having fun  and Dave called him out and told him he was out harassing people while he had an illegally jacked-up truck with too big of tires that were too far outside the wheel wells to be street legal and that he’d be calling the State in the morning to make sure the laws were for EVERYONE if he wanted to harass a guy playing in a snow storm! Funny and poignant and very much an indicator or his personal character! Wow Dave! And the time he called the police station about a break-in alarm going off and told the police they’d better beat him there cause he was coming in armed! Then the debacle with him getting harassed and his pistol kicked across the parking lot while the actual criminals were getting away! Dave had the stories and the experiences that made you laugh hard and think harder! Then his personal story about being taught to turn a wrench by his grandfather so he’d have a way to make money for his future career! So many stories and so much impact! God bless you and your family and may Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior welcome you with open arms my friend!

Your family means a lot to me. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I will keep you in my prayers. I always enjoyed meeting with Dave. He always had a positive attitude and a way of making people feel good. His business was built on more than fixing cars. He cared about people.  I have often sat in the waiting area of Penninsula Total Car Care and customers mention their joy of doing business with Dave. I visit a lot of shops and there is definitely something special about the business & your family. Dave has had a positive impact on many people. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet Dave. 

I hired Dave back in the early 90s  @ Carney tire. I knew from first meeting him that he was a great person.  We spent many hours together as he learned everything he could about the auto repair business . I knew he would be a successful shop owner . He will truly be missed. 

There was no bigger heart of gold in any one human being than the one in Dave.  Godspeed good friend to all...

Christy and family, my heart is with you as you move through life missing the light that Dave spread.  But I know, deep in my heart, that you have picked up the flame he carried to make this world a better place through daily interactions of love and compassion for all of humanity.  It burns in you like it did in him...and still does!

Dave was a fine gentleman and a brother in Christ.  I am thankful to know where he will spend eternity.  God bless you , Bierman Family.

Dave and I met Dave many years ago at his 'new' business Peninsula Total Car Care.  He was so kind, outgoing and personable. He never met a stranger. Many talks about the Gospel, salvation, God's love and faithfulness. He treated us fairly and made sure we were a completely satisfied customer/friend...We send our sincere condolences and prayers to the entire family.

I met David and his lovely wife Christy at a Christmas party at my brother's house in Salisbury.  I have liked them both very much ever since.  Dave was always friendly and sharing, a great guy.  He was an awesome sportsman and successful business man and I will always admire him.  In fact, I have some goose from him in the freezer right now.  Among other events, I had the chance to go on a wonderful fishing trip on April 30, 2014 and David was also invited. We had such a great time and I will remember it forever.   I will miss my friend-we had more memories to make. Prayers for the family. 

From the first days of Penninsula, Dave has been our friend. 15 vehicles of ours you have worked on....I just counted them. Hanging out with you was always a treat for Paleena,Slava,Lena and myself my Mother, Sister, Brother and Uncle and Aunt. You will forever hold that Someone Special place in all our hearts and minds.I hope The Fisherman Saint Peter was the one that took you to present you to Jesus as his Good and Faithful Servant and to show you all the best honey hole fishin spots. Dave will always have the place in my book as one  'Cancer Fightin Fool'. No one I know has ever fought so hard. I will so miss knowing you are not here. You have let us all standing here on That Long and Winding Road.You will see me before you know it when I come and knock on your door. Love you...Marc  and Family.

David grew up across the street from me so it was hard not to know and love him. As a kid he was kind and sweet and wanted to be in the military which I am happy to say came true.  I have watched his courageous fight w cancer to the end never showing fear only love and kindness and this is what I remember most about him - love and kindness . Rest in peace my friend . We remember the kindness and love with which your family received us into your home when we visited two years ago, and have not forgotten David's conspicuously positive outlook on life, even when sharing about his health challenges.  What a positive soul he was: definitely a man whose disposition brought cheerfulness to those around him! We are thankful for the opportunity to have gotten to know him in the short time we visited.  God bless!

Dave and I met years ago from treasure hunting and metal detecting. We met in Virginia Beach. I could see immediately that he was generous, and down to earth. He never spoke about anything but God, family and treasure hunting with me. He is a rare soul. 
Just this past year, I had the privilege of meeting Christy, and what a sweet soul she is, too. So many lives are enriched because of Dave and his family. May God give comfort, grace, and bring to memory all the wonderful stories that still need to be told. Much love!

I am completely heartbroken....There is no other like Dave....Such a loveable guy with a heart of gold...The world will never be the same....I will miss you so much Dave...I am forever grateful for your friendship...My thoughts & prayers are with his wife, his children, Family & Friends!!....Will always be a special place in my heart for Dave....

Dave, if it wasn’t for ACN I would had never had met you or Christy, so i am so ever greatful that Chico called me one day out of the blue to come meet you and Christy.  From there our friendship and even business venture blossomed.   We talked a lot about life, business and living a fulfilled life.  You helped me in many ways you’ll never know by loving and experience life to the fullest, always living in the moment and your big heart to help others.  I look up to you Dave and appreciate everything you have done not just for me but for so many other people, you have not just only impacted the community you live in, it’s spread much further than that.  Christy & Family, my family and I are always here for you if you need us.  Please don’t hesitate to ever reach out.
