Mavis Carol Garcia was born on November 7, 1956 in Portland, Oregon to her loving parents, Murl and Jean Wescott. She leaves behind her husband of 35 years, Rick Garcia, and her four daughters; Shawna, Candace, Kelsey, and stepdaughter Cheryl. Mavis was also an incredible grandmother to 8 children, and a great grandmother to 2. She loved her family and grandkids with everything that she had.
Mavis went to business school and worked at various jobs throughout her life. She was one of the hardest working and most reliable people that we’ve ever known. Mavis was the most warm, kind, loving, accepting and beautiful person. When she fell ill in 2023 she never lost hope and walked through every chemotherapy or hospital stay with a smile on her face and her head held high.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, and being in her backyard. Her smile and hugs are irreplaceable.
Mavis modeled resilience and strength through to her last day. She is fiercely loved and missed. Our forever angel. A memorial celebration will come in Spring of 2025.
