her life.
Janice met her husband Duane while attending Salem Academy and attended Westmont College. Janice & Duane married on October 30th,1954 and traveled to Germany early in their marriage where Duane served during the Korean War. After raising her children, she worked as an instructional aide in the Salem Public Schools.
Janice was raised at Kingwood Bible Church and attended Salem Alliance Church. Her home on Cherry Hill was a gathering place for family, friends and neighbors where she would serve the best banana cream pie and homemade strawberry jam. Janice and Duane traveled extensively in retirement and spent most of the winter months in Palm Springs.
Janice was preceded in death by both parents, brother Don Goertzen, and children Laurie (1959-1972) and Brent (1967-1990). Janice is survived by her husband of 70 years Duane, younger brother Jerome Goertzen, sons Aaron (Joy) , Danny ( Carrie), and grandchildren Haylee, Katelyn, Jake, Ramie, Brody and Brenner.
A service will be held in honor of Janice's life on November 21 at 1 p.m. at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Chapel of the Gardens.
