Frank was born in Cameron, Texas to Francisco and Margarita Ojeda. The family migrated to Oregon where he spent the majority of his life.
Frank graduated from Central High School in 1973 where he met his wife, Yolanda Reyna. They married in 1974, had 3 children and have resided in Salem, OR for 35+ years. Frank began working with the Oregon Highway Department testing materials, surveying and building bridges throughout the state. Later, Frank transitioned to working at West Valley Housing Authority where he performed housing inspections and interacted daily with tenants until he retired in 2014.
What defines Frank are his relationships. Being one of twelve kids plus Yolanda’s similarly large family brings a lot of activity into daily life. Frank also made friends easily and soon friends also became family. There is always a family gathering, celebration or milestone to attend. Universally Frank is remembered as a good listener, generous, loving, kind and funny. For those reasons, he was given the following titles: world’s best dad, favorite brother, favorite uncle, world’s best grandfather, wonderful husband and partner to his wife.
Outside of all the social events, Frank found time to develop a second passion in ASA Umpiring. For twenty years he was making calls and managing the players and the crowd. Frank travelled northwest Oregon and was respected enough to be offered opportunities to participate in the World Series. Additionally, he loved music of all genres, dancing, fishing, crabbing, gardening, the Oregon Ducks and the Las Vegas Raiders.
Frank will be missed dearly by his surviving relatives which include: Wife: Yolanda Ojeda, married 46 years; Children: Olivia (Brandon) Ojeda-Hayes, Angela (Travis) Harm, Joaquin Ojeda; Grandchildren: Ismael Campos, Isaac Campos, Isaiah Campos, Elijah Hayes, McKayla Campos, Aaron Hayes, Tyler Powelson; Siblings: Gloria Ojeda, Marsha (Rene) Cedillo, Miguel Ojeda, Tony Ojeda, Rosemary (Doug) Ojeda, Patsy (Vern) Kessinger, Felisa (Sam) Ojeda-Valdez, Martin (Lucy) Ojeda, Annie (Tom) Duffy, Jimmy (Teresa) Ojeda; Too many nieces and nephews to count but Frank always made each of them feel loved.
Frank leaves a legacy of being generous, patient and genuinely kind to not only his family or his friends who were like family, but anyone who he happened to meet as well.
Preceded by brother Danny Ojeda and parents Francisco and Margarita Ojeda.
