Deborah D. Knieling

Debbi was born on September 13, 1956 in Orange, CA to Fredrick W. and Mary J. Hofknecht. She spent her childhood in California and Arizona before attending Northern Arizona University. She later moved to Oregon where she met Gene. Debbi and Gene got married on September 22, 1984, going on to have two children, Michael and Kate. 

Debbi retired in 2015 after working for the State of Oregon for 25 years, the last 15 years in the Department of Justice. 

Debbi was predeceased by her parents, Fredrick and Mary, and sister, Patricia. She is survived by her brothers, Mike (Betty) and Greg (Malone) Hofknecht, sister, Mary Anne Hedrick, her husband, Gene, her children, Jenny (Nick) Gerig, Michael, and Kate (Alex) Calderon, her grandchildren Landon, Ella, and Maggie, and her beloved dog, Molly. 

Besides spending time with her family and friends, Debbi enjoyed gardening, crafting, and traveling. Everyone also knew her as a wonderful cook and baker.
