Fred M. Kaufman passed away on September 22, 2013 after a prolonged illness. He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts and graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1942. He served in the army after graduation for three years. He married a classmate, Betty Grob, in 1945 and they were married for 68 years, living predominantly in Marblehead. He was the owner of Matthew Printers and Stationers and worked until his late 70’s. Son of the late Daniel & Rose Kaufman. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty, children Susan Gorban, Amy Kaufman Borovsky, Matthew and Marcia Kaufman, grandchildren Rebecca Gorban, Leah and Michael Gorman, Sara Kaufman, Emily Kaufman, Noah Borovsky and great-granddaughter, Elie Rose Gorman. Loving brother of the late Myra and Murray Cohen. Services at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, Salem, Mass 01970 at 12 noon on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013. Interment at Pride of Lynn Cemetery. The family will receive condolences immediately following interment at the Recreation Hall at the Village Apartment Complex 1 Carol Way, Salem and then at his late residence, Tuesday and Wednesday 6-8 PM and Thursday 6-8PM at the home of Matthew and Marcia Kaufman.
