Born on July 22, 1944 in Saint Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late Elton F. Becker and the late Martha H. (nee' Hallermann) Becker.
Jack is survived by one brother, Gene W. Becker, of Saint Louis, many loving nieces and nephews, Marlene Mestres, Monica N. Mestres, Stephen G. (Angela) Mestres, Susan M. (Richard) Schumacher, David J. (Deborah) Mestres, Timothy J. Mestres, and the late Daniel G. Mestres; and 7 great-nieces and nephews, Liana, Daniel, Javier, Nora, Silvana, Carlos, and Alexander.
Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Marlene H. (the late Joseph) Mestres of Saint Louis; his four grandparents, William C. Becker, Hannah (nee' Bremer) Becker, George H. Hallermann, and Lena (nee' Lenhardt) Hallermann.
Jack was a teacher for many years with the Saint Louis Public School system. He retired after teaching at schools such as Dewey, Shaw, and Monroe.
He was very active in sports and an avid St. Louis Billikens fan. He was beloved by all who knew him.
A visitation will be Sunday, April 18 from 2-6pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street 63109. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 19 at 10am, at Saint Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 6303 Nottingham Avenue 63109. Interment Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
