Mrs. Castillo was born March 23, 1937 in Breese Ill., a daughter of the late Albin and Mary, nee McQuade, Schrage.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Castillo, whom she married July 15, 1959 at St. Rose Catholic Church and who died February 17, 1985; sibling, loving twin sister Joan F. Lampe: father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joaquin and Anita, nee Vallina, Castillo; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard “Slugger” Lampe, Robert Leary, Jack Castillo, and Dorothy (Castillo) Fasso, Bertha Castillo.
Surviving are her son, Jay (Christine) Castillo of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Natalie Castillo, John Paul Castillo, Joseph Castillo, and Elizabeth Castillo; siblings, Juanita Leary of Long Island, NY, and Dr. Daniel (Nancy) Schrage of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law Paul Fasso of Hollywood, FL; special friend, Jim Morton of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was formerly owner/operator of Small World Travel in St. Louis, MO. Later she worked with her twin sister Joan at Lampe Travel in Breese. She retired working as hotel sales manager at Inn at the Park in the St Louis Central West End. Jeanne enjoyed traveling and going on cruises, and wintering in Palm Beach, FL with her siblings and friends. In addition, she enjoyed playing cards, bingo, Scrabble, and Sequence with her siblings and extended family, crossword puzzles, and shopping, but above all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she absolutely adored.
Jeanne was an enormous sports fan, she followed the St. Louis Cardinals religiously and knew every player on the 40 man roster. Her family knew they would receive calls from Jeanne during or post Cardinal games. She was also a fan of the St. Louis Rams,
Kansas City Chiefs, Vianney Golden Griffins, Little Rock Catholic High for Boys Rockets, and the Mater Dei Knights..
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday April 18, 2022, 10:00 am at the St. Dominic Catholic Church, 493 N. 2nd St. Breese, Il. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, 1215 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63125
