He was 74 years old, a Jesuit for 44 years and a priest for 36 years. From 2016 until earlier this year, he served as parochial vicar at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Peoria, Ill.
Born Aug. 4, 1947, in Kansas City, Kansas, he was preceded in death by his father, Paul Stark, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Shirlee Ann Stark, and two brothers, Terrence and David Stark. Prior to his assignment at St. Thomas, Fr. Stark’s ministry was mainly in education administration, serving in several Jesuit high schools and universities over a span of 30 years.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Xavier College Church in St. Louis on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. The visitation will be at the church immediately before the funeral, beginning at 9:30 a.m. In Peoria, a memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peoria Heights, at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30.
