Geraldine Davis was born October 18, 1939 in Kissimmee, Florida to Allen and Mamie (Tapley) Davis. She was one of four children who shared many adventures together into adulthood. Geri graduated from Paxon High School in Jacksonville and met and married James Moore in May 1958 and began her family with four sons and a daughter before they divorced. Geri worked several jobs to support her family throughout the years. Alvin Shelton, a bus driver, drove into her life and joined this wonderful family when they married in May 1971. Geri and Alvin added two twin sons and a daughter to this growing family. Upon Alvin’s death, Geri continued to take the reins in loving and supporting her family.
Geri gave all she had to care for her family, shared in their interests and was eager to brag about them. Geri was always up for an adventure. She even earned her black belt in karate alongside her youngest sons. However, Geri’s incredible talent was as an artist. Her drawings and paintings are admired and sought after by every member of the family. Geri eventually met her life partner in Frank Morejohn. They shared their love of art and travel and sailed the ocean waters.
Geri always radiated grace, kindness, ethics, unselfishness and love and passed it all along to her family every day of her life. Family meant everything to her. She ended every conversation with, “I love you!”
Blessed to have shared her life to this journey’s end are her sons, David Moore, Michael (Karen) Moore, Douglas (Sandra) Moore, Phillip (Susan) Moore, Shane (Jessica) Shelton and Shawn (Dawn) Shelton.
