Denise Marie O'Connor

Denise married Richard Daniel O’Connor on July 3, 1976 in Staten Island, NY. They were married for 47 years. She is survived by her loving husband Richard, her 3 daughters Karen Bennett (Robert Bennett), Aileen Mize (Shawn Mize) & Christy O’Connor-Demos (Jeffrey Demos). She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Bobby Bennett (Holly Bennett), Kevin Bennett (Becky Bennett), William Bennett, Madison Mize & Nicholas Mize.

Denise graduated from Port Richmond High School in Staten Island, NY in 1971. She attended and graduated with a degree in nursing from Staten Island Community College in 1982. She worked as a Registered Nurse through the years in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult day care centers. She finished her career in Lawrence Township, NJ at Wishing Well Adult Day Health Care Center.

Denise had several interests. She really enjoyed reading, writing short stories and was a published author of a children’s book, The Haunted House. She was an avid Harry Potter fan, and loved going to Universal Studios, FL. She owned many copies of the Harry Potter books and enjoyed watching the movies, and even attended a Harry Potter Live Exhibit and also the Harry Potter Broadway play in New York City.

She was a huge lover of animals. She loved her cats Gimpy, Spike, Lana, & Fluffy.

Visitation will be from 1pm – 5pm, Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Hardage – Giddens St. Johns; 1285 St. Johns Parkway, St. Johns, FL.
