Mary who started at Pio Nono in 1970, received her teaching license from Rosary College in River Forest, IL. She taught Latin, Spanish, and worked in the library at several schools in Nebraska and Illinois before coming to Milwaukee, where Pio Nono and STM would become her home for 36 years (retiring in 2006). In the course of almost four decades, Mary taught Latin, English, Journalism, Language Structure, and American Literature; in addition, she worked as a grief counselor and as a part of the learning resource team. Mary says of her experiences at STM. "I had wonderful students [at STM] all along and I rally appreciate all the support I have had from the administration, some of them are my friends today. For me, it wasn't just a job, but an experience. I enjoyed coming to School everyday." On December 8, 2012 she was the first woman inducted into the St. Thomas More Alumni Hall of Fame. Mary was dedicated to her home parish of Sacred Heart of Jesus serving on numerous committees, volunteering constantly, and singing in the choir. She lived at Howard Village assisting with Masses and volunteering there. Special thanks to Horizon Hospice and Ramsey Woods for their loving care. Memorials to St. Thomas More High School or Sacred Heart of Jesus Church appreciated.
