He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ruth Ann Shiflet; his three amazing daughters, Renee Shiflet (Josh) Jeffryes, Becky Shiflet (Jack) Soeder, and Robin Shiflet; his six wonderful grandchildren, Wesley Shiflet, Alexis Jeffryes, Brenden Jeffryes, Anna Soeder, Adelyn Soeder, and Christopher Jeffryes; his nieces and nephew Christin Hardgrave Price, Steve Hardgrave, Adin Gee Pace, Dani Gee Gambill, and Rachel Jane Rowe; and 15 great- and grand-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Aleise Shiflet, and his sisters, Carolyn Shiflet and Barbara Hyman.
Bob was a biochemist with Sigma Chemical Company for 37 years before retiring in 2006. He loved spending time with his family.
He loved music, and passed that talent to his kids. He played clarinet with the Compton Heights Band and sang bass in the church choir for many decades. He was an important part of the music ministry at First Baptist Church of Ferguson.
In the 1980s he ran several marathons, including a 50-mile ultra marathon. He loved to bowl. He loved watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
The family will have a private burial service due to Covid-19 restrictions.
