Jerry Wayne Halstead

He was born July 6, 1949 in St. Albans, a son of Clarence W. and Garnet Holton Halstead. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Jerry was a 1969 graduate of St. Albans High School. He was retired from DOW with over 33 years of service. Jerry was a US Army Veteran having served two tours in Vietnam with the 1st Calvary Unit. He was an avid outdoorsman. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend that will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Johanna, sons, Joshua Halstead (Amy), of Bridgeport, and John Wayne Halstead (Meagan Elizabeth), of Winfield, grandchildren, Braxton Wayne, Kason Miles, Addilyn Grace, Emma Mae, and Lucas William, and sisters, Marcie Dunlap, Mae Downey, and Linda Withrow, all of St. Albans.

Gathering of family and friends will be from 2 until 4 pm at the funeral home.

Celebration of Jerry’s life will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Taylor officiating. Military Rites will be conducted immediately following the service by St. Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice.
