Victor Larry Sanchez passed away peacefully February 23,2023 at the age of 71. Victor was born on February 20, 1952 in Lincoln, California to the late Victor and Evelyn Sanchez. After the early passing of his father, he was then raised by Dante Ciardella & Evelyn.
He attended Hiram Johnson High School as a three-sport athlete in football, wrestling and baseball. He attended Sacramento City College, where he played football and wrestled, then transferring to Sacramento State where he also played Football.
In the early years of his career with Kaiser, he met his future wife and the love of his life Linda, who also worked there. While paving his way through Kaiser, he found his lasting career in the pathology department, becoming a Senior Pathologist Tech. He ended his career at Kaiser with 39 years.
Coaching was a huge part of his life, which started at John F. Kennedy High School as an Assistant Coach for the wrestling team in the 70s. In the early 2000’s he became the Head Wrestling Coach at El Camino High School and the Head Coach for the girls' golf team for many years. Ending his coaching career as the Head Freshman Football Coach at Rio Americano in 2018 next to his son, not including all the coaching and guidance throughout all the years to all the teams and players.
His other passions were weekend trips to Carmel with his wife, fishing with his son and the family vacations to Hawaii. He was loved by his wife, Linda Sanchez, and son, Victor Joseph Sanchez. He was a loving and caring husband and father.
Victor will be remembered as a funny, kind and caring person who always thought about others first. He will be missed by all family, friends, players and colleagues.
