Rosemarie Savona

As in life, Rose Marie Savona passed away with dignity and grace on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at her home in Sacramento. Rose Marie was born in Fresno, CA to Mike and Rose De Marinis. She graduated from San Joaquin Memorial High School in 1950 and married her high school sweetheart, Paul, in 1951. Rose Marie and Paul settled in Fresno where she worked as a legal secretary until 1966 when the family moved to Sacramento, where she began working for Safeco Insurance. In addition to raising a beautiful and loving family, Rose Marie will be remembered for her long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis; facing each challenge with strength and determination. Wherever she went her smile wasn't far behind and you just knew that she was something special. Missing Rose Marie are her husband Paul, her daughter Paula (Kip) Gilbert; Karen (Janice) Savona; her grandchildren, Keith (Jessica) Gilbert and Michelle (Mike) Rodrigues and her four great-grand children. Rose Marie is also survived by her sister Ann Savona of Janesville, WI as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her brother Vedo. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held.
