Ronald Dean Jones

Ron Jones, age 84, passed away on June 21, 2020 from cardiac complications.

A celebration of life tribute will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Harry A. Nauman & Son funeral home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the service will be limited to immediate family. A live stream of the service will be available on the Harry A. Nauman & Son Facebook page.

Ron is survived by wife Rita (14 years), children Sam (Cindy) Lopez, Denise (Robbie) , Robert (Janet) , Kevin (Judi) Rouse, Kathleen (Rod) Zagala and brother Casey (Fran) Jones.

He will also be remembered by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, stepchildren, step- grandchildren and friends that he proudly called family. Ron chose to live every single day by spreading love and laughter, showering others with his compassion, kindness, and unforgettable positive energy. He left us unexpectedly; and we have lost a dear father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. Ron was known for his natural ability to help others and many have been forever touched by his life.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Carol.

Ron was born on July 8, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lisle and Ella Nora Jones. He moved with his parents and brother to Sacramento, California. Ron attended Sacramento City College and went on to work at Wonder Bread for 46 years. He was an exceptional salesman and enjoyed talking with others, creating lifelong friendships with everyone he met.

As a young child, Mickey grew up going to Camp Sacramento and continued the tradition with his children. He shared his love for fishing and would teach anyone with the desire to learn to help them catch fish/crabbing and learn his special techniques. Ron was passionate about watching and cheering on the Sacramento Kings/Monarchs or the Golden State Warriors. Ron was a true perfectionist. During his retirement years, he loved to spend hours cleaning and improving his yard, making homemade jerky, and eating delicious Mexican food (mostly made by Rita). Rita guided him to find his love for God and their Church (Harvest Church, Elk Grove). Ron and Rita would volunteer their time for numerous events and causes. He was always willing to share his spiritual love for God with others - Ron found this a sincere blessing that he truly cherished.
