Born in Berkeley, California to Alfonso and Anna Dominguez, Mike and his family lived in a number of countries throughout the world, including Bangladesh, West Pakistan, Korea, and Afghanistan, in support of his father’s career with the US State Department, Agency for International Development (US-AID). Living abroad for 9 years, gave Mike a passion for learning about other cultures and peoples. After graduating from the American high school in Seoul, Korea, he and his friends traveled around the world by train, bus, and boat (and yes, they even hitchhiked) throughout Asia and Europe. He later settled in Sacramento where he earned his Bachelors of Science in Political Science from CSU Sacramento and went to work for the State of California where he later retired as an Information Technology Supervisor.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, backpacking, and boating with his friends in the Sierras. He loved spending time with his family, talking about his LA Lakers, politics, and world affairs.
Mike will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, intellect, and his deep love for his family and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ron. He is survived by his brothers David Dominguez and Paul Dominguez (Sandy), nephew Drew, and nieces Crystal Dominguez and Anneliese Henderson (Colton), and many other beloved family members and friends.
