John Dobrinski was born September 27, 1930 to Helen Dobrinski in Avoca, Pennsylvania and passed away April 2, 2021 in Sacramento, California. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years Mary Lou Dobrinski. He has since enjoyed the loving companionship of his dear friend Mary Anderson. Loving father of John (Cindy), Jim (Kim), Susan, Terrie Hijlkema, Steve, Kathy Springfield (Mike), and Eric (Jennifer). Adored grandpa of 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Survived by his Ostrowsky siblings George (Ann), Chet (Mary), and Bernie (Evelyn). Preceded in death by siblings Joe Ostrowsky and Margie (Ostrowsky) Jones, and John, Joe, Stanley, Mike, Barney, Steve, Frank, and Casimir Dobrinski.
John graduated from Tunkhannock High School in 1948. He served valiantly in the Air Force from 1948 – 1952 and was a Korean War veteran. He left the military as a senior electrician and continued to work in that field for the next 65 years, eventually owning his own business Dobrinski & Sons Electric. He loved sports, especially the SF Giants and 49ers, and was an avid bowler. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his cherished family. He embraced life with a loving, joyful, and generous spirit! We will miss him dearly.
A private graveside service for immediate family only (due to COVID conditions) will be held on April 16, 2021 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Sacramento.
