Giovanna Biundo was born in the town of Cinisi (Sicily-Italy) on August 11, 1936 and peacefully left her earthly home in Elk Grove, California on February 10, 2022 at the age of 85 to be with our heavenly Father and our beloved father (Domenico-October 7, 2021). Giovanna is preceded in death by her father, mother and all her siblings. She is survived by her three loving and adoring children, daughter Pietra Peter (Tony Peter son-in-law), son John Biundo (Giuseppina Biundo daughter-in-law) and daughter Nora Salazar (Fernando Salazar son-in-law) and her six loving grandchildren Rosa, Lucia, and John Biundo and Mauricio, Giovanna, and Francesco Salazar, who brought her joy and happiness. She was loved dearly and adored by her entire family and friends. Giovanna immigrated to the United States in 1967 and devoted her life to her husband and children rooting them in all things Italian. She had a love and passion for cooking and baking many traditional Sicilian foods, which she shared with her family and friends. Giovanna proudly shared her Italian heritage with her community by actively participating in many of the Sacramento Italian Cultural Society events. Her viewing is at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 2 (4:00-8:00 pm) and a rosary and Catholic Mass at St. Joseph Parish Elk Grove on Thursday,
March 3 at 10:00am. Interment immediately following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
