Frank Jimenez, 93, was born on February 26, 1924 in Sacramento, CA to Soledad and Jesus Jimenez. He passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2018. He joins his mother and father, brothers Robert, Edward, and Luis, and sister M. Immaculata (deceased) in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha (Macias) to whom he was married for almost 70 years; his sister Delores Acevedo (Hector) of Sacramento, his daughter Dorothy Porto (Phil) of Fair Oaks, his son, Ronald Jimenez of Roseville; grandchildren Scott Williams of Concord, CA, Melissa Drevalas (Chris) of Menifee, CA, and Korynne Jimenez of Roseville, CA; great grandchildren Liliana, Lincoln and Reagan Drevalas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank was a graduate of Grant Union High School in 1942 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1948 from Heald Engineering College in San Francisco, CA.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps as a sergeant in the 68th Signal Aircraft Warning Detachment, Ninth Air Force 371 Fighter Group-406 Fighter Squadron, working as a radio mechanic with the Air Corps fighter group in England, France and Germany.
He worked for Packard Bell and Teledyne in San Francisco and Sacramento for over 15 years. He was then employed for 24 years by McClellan Air Force Base as a Quality Equipment Specialist retiring circa 1984.
Frank was active in St. Robert Catholic Church, and was one of the original parishioners. He was a member of SIRS #50. Frank and Bertha traveled extensively after retirement visiting many cities and countries. He was handy with anything electrical and could fix just about anything.
The world lost a great man, who was compassionate, loving, gentle, honest, full of integrity and great moral character. He will be truly missed.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, February 12, 2018, from 4pm-8pm at Harry A. Nauman & Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd. Sacramento, 95822. A rosary will be held at Harry A. Nauman & Son on February 12th at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service/mass will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Robert Catholic Church at 2243 Irvin Way, Sacramento, CA 95822. Committal will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life at St. Robert Church Gym.
