Esteban Villa, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Sacramento, CA, on May 15, 2022, of natural causes. Born on August 3, 1930, Esteban is survived by his children, Charlotte, Mark, Karl, Valerie, Nathan, Rene, Vivian, Cassandra, Andrew, Raphael; and many relatives, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Esteban studied art at the College of Arts in Berkeley and then CSU, Sacramento where he received his masters degree. He received an honorary doctorate degree from CSUS this year.
His teaching days began at Linden High School in California and ended with retirement from CSUS after 35 years in education. He continued drawing and painting daily until his final days.
A public celebration-of-life event will be held on June 17th in Esteban’s memory. The event is from 5-7pm at the Latino Center of Art & Culture located at 2700 Front Street in Sacramento.
