Betty Ring Dan was a very close fried of my uncles Albert and Fred Mallengi. As a child I was a tag along with my Uncle Al until his death. You instructed him in flight lessons. I'm am sorry i didn't keep in contact with you and your family. Thought and prayers to you and your family.

Dear Uncle Danny,  
How difficult it is to say good-bye even though I know and believe it will not be forever.  You have made a deep impression on me throughout my life by your love of family, devotion to country, ready smile and cheerful easygoing nature.  Now as you embark on the next phase of existence I wish you a smooth transition and a joyful reunion with your parents, brothers and sister, Mary.  Thank you for being a kind and loving Uncle.  Congratulations on a life well lived.

So many memories of you are in my heart.  The many christmas eves as a child when you and the cousins came over.  Always intelligent with a quick wit and smile. I never knew my grandfathers, both of them gone before I was around. Over the years, I have come to enjoy friendships with several such men, the grandfathers and/or fathers of friends, and Dan certainly was one of them. 
I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Dan over the past decade, talking airplanes and flying, his service years, South Sacramento, and of course, his family.
I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing, and I will miss our talks and his strong but understated sense of humor. He won't be forgotten.

As I read the article today of your passing it just blew me away in tears. You were a great man and will always be the Mayor of Old Florin Town, inside joke we had at my grandmas funeral service. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family!

     You have been an inspiration to us all through your devotion to family, your adventurous spirit, and your keen sense of humor!  You will be sadly missed by those fortunate enough to know you.  
     I'm sure when you passed that mom was waiting with loving arms to embrace you!  It is comforting knowing that you two are finally together again.  
     Thank you for the many emails we shared over the past few years. I will cherish them always.
