Alvin Malkin of Lincoln, CA passed away on Jan. 25 at the age of 83. Born in Waterville, Ohio he was the youngest of eight children. In 1958, Al married his first love, Marilyn. In 1963 they moved to Sacramento where they remained happily married for 46 years until Marilyn passed away. Al began the second chapter of his life, finding love again, when he met Judy; they were married for 11 years.
Al was an active member of B’nai Brith for over 50 years. He also volunteered as a reserve officer with the Lincoln Police Department and helped out regularly at both Roseville and Granite Bay BloodSource locations. He had regular poker games and bowled on various leagues throughout the years. By everyone who knew him, Al was known as a kind, gentle person who was quick with a joke and always eager to offer a helping hand.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters Jodi (David) and Sheryl; and granddaughter Sasha.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral service on Sunday, January 28 at 11:00 am at Home of Peace Jewish Cemetery, 6200 Stockton Blvd. in Sacramento. Arrangements are under the care of Lombard Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to B’nai Brith or a charity of your choice.
