Robert A. Theriault, aka “Sponge Bob” passed away on December 19, 2017 at home surrounded by his family after a long bout with cancer. He was born in Rumford, Maine on June 12, 1944 to Alice and Arthur Theriault.
Bob drove a tractor-trailer for Currier’s of NH for many years; he then worked for the Highway Department for the towns of Woodstock, Bethel and Rumford. Upon his “retirement” at age 72, he drove a potato truck for Sunday River Farm.
He was an avid rock collector and liked to work on anything with a motor including stock cars.
Surviving are his wife Sandra Thurston Theriault; children, Mark Theriault of Milton, and Brenda Drew and husband Steven of Waterboro; grandchildren, Hollie Vitale, Heather, Alan and Ryan Theriault, Maxwell, Alexander Drew and Bethany Sinnett; sisters, Betty Blaisdell of Vienna, Susan Rosenburg and husband Timothy of Woodstock; and a brother, Paul Theriault and wife Marilyn of Taberg, NY.
He was predeceased by his parents and a grandson, Barrett Sinnett.
