Raymond Lee Hanson

1958 – 2021

Peru- Raymond Lee Hanson 62 of Bird Farm Rd. Peru died Thursday October 21, 2021 at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Rumford on December 24, 1958 a son of the late Norman and Ruth (Brackett) Hanson. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Rumford High School class of 1977.

Lee was a truck driver for most of his life, working for himself. He married his true love the former Sally LaPlante on June 27, 1987.

Lee enjoyed rides on his motorcycle, spending time with friends, especially on fishing trips, and most of all spending time with his daughter “Trace-Troops”.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years Sally Hanson of Peru, his daughter Tracee Hanson of Gray, a sister Janet McKenney, two brothers William Hanson and wife Marjorie of Peru, and Randy Hanson and wife Linda of Rumford, several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Sophie. He was predeceased by a sister Judy Penley.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Fresenius Kidney Center Umbagog in Wilton and CMMC for the exceptional care they gave to Lee.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 10/28 at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church 1 Church St. in Jay, Followed by committal at Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Thibault Remembrance Center 250 Penobscot St. Rumford 364-4366.
