Jean M Cote

1932 - 2021

Farmington- Jean M. Cote 89, of Rumford died Friday July 30, at The Woodlands Senior Living Center in Farmington. She was born in Portland on March 26, 1932 a daughter of the late Adolphe and Jane (Desroche) Richard. She graduated from Steven High School class of 1953. In her younger years she worked for Hanes Landing in Rangeley and Diamond Match and Bass Shoe.

Jean married her true love, Leonard A. Cote on June 2, 1954. Together they raised their family and spent 62 wonderful years together until he passed in January of 2018. She was a member of The Parish of the Holy Savior. She enjoyed crafts and was an avid bowler on the Rolling Dozens Bowling Team.

She is survived by her three sons Kenneth Cote and his companion Lisa of Poland, Richard Cote and wife Wanda of Rumford and John Cote of Rumford, a grandson Richard Cote and wife Kim, great grandchildren Callie and Cameron Cote all of NH and a brother Ernest Richard and wife Donna of Dixfield. She was predeceased by a twin brother Eugene Richard and a brother Robert Richard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday Aug. 6, at The Parish of the Holy Savior Church 126 Maine Ave. Rumford. She will be laid to rest with her husband at a later date at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Those not able to attend the funeral mass may join us on Parish of the Holy Savior Facebook Page.
