Farmington- Isadore “Izzy” Brann, 83, of Dixfield, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Izzy is now reunited with his brother Steve, who passed away four days prior.
He was born on January 20, 1935 in Peru, son of Loando V. and Ida A. (Pingree) Brann.
Isadore and Carolyn Pettegrow’s quaint wedding on February 25, 1956 led to a 62 year marriage for friends and family to admire.
He was a hard worker from a very young age, then supporting his family as a farmer, logger, and his fir tipping business. His passions included showing cattle at local fairs, growing squash, attending jam fests in nearby towns, and he had a love for the land.
Above all, Isadore loved and was very proud of his family. He adored being a grandfather and was a huge influence to all of his grandchildren. He loved going for scenic rides, having long conversations with anyone who would listen, and loved retelling his favorite stories. He loved having tea on the porch overlooking the Androscoggin River and spending time with friends. All were welcome at the farm.
Surviving are his wife Carolyn, sons; Nelson Brann, Mark Brann and wife Donna, Michael Brann and wife Darlene, daughters; Nancy McPherson, Natalie Murphy and husband Robert, grandsons; Curtis Brann and wife Erikka, Seth McPherson and wife Kaci, Travis Waite and wife Katy, Jonathan McPherson, Devin Brann, granddaughters; Melissa Stevens and husband Charlie, Krystal Smith and husband Ryan, Tracie Brann and significant other Tim Willis, Katie Metivier and fiancé Michael Young, Lindsey Brann and fiancé Kayla Perry, great grandchildren; Owen and Brooke Smith, Cash Stevens, Oliver and Lorelai Waite, Raelyn Metivier, Hannah McPherson, Everett Brann, Liam and Jayson Brann, and Baby Young, sister in law Deborah Brann, and brother in law Leo LaPointe, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers; Lawrence, Kenneth, and Van “Steve” Brann and his sister Marie LaPointe.
Special thanks to the staff at Edgewood, especially Gloria, for her kindness and thoughtfulness.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Izzy’s memory may be made to his loving widow Carolyn.
