Cuca 'Ruth' McLaughlin was Nonny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life was always about supporting family and friends. She loved reading, singing, music, musicals, comedy, and animals. Nonny was very quick witted, and focused on enjoying her life. Family was always first for her. She would light up whenever her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren would visit.
Cuca was the eldest of nine children, born November 7, 1932 in El Paso, Texas to her Parents, Javier Uranga and Refugio (Salazar) Uranga. Her family moved to East Los Angeles when she was young, and she grew up attending Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic school. Cuca also attended Sacred Heart of Jesus High school, and the University of San Francisco. After spending time in a convent and before taking her final vows, she decided to marry and raise a family.
