Willow Cowart Phillips of Alpharetta, Georgia, age 54, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 19. Beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her husband Doug Phillips, Sr., her son, Douglas Phillips Jr., parents Rose and Joe Cowart, sister Ann, and brothers Joseph, John and Murray.
Willow was born in Durham, North Carolina where she lived until 1972. At that time her family moved to Lucedale, Mississippi where she graduated from George County High School as class valedictorian in 1982. She received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of South Alabama where also, she first met her husband. They were married in September of 1986 and welcomed their only child, son Douglas Phillips Jr., in April of 1995.
She began her professional career at KnowledgeWare , but her passion for finding valuable antiques eventually led to the start of her own antique business. Although work took up much of her time, Willow always made time for her family. She proudly held the positions of secretary and president of the Chattahoochee High School “Junior Cougar” and “Gridiron” programs.
Visitation will be held at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd. Roswell, GA. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 12:00 pm till 2:00 pm. The funeral service will also be held on April 6, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Roswell Funeral Home. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home and donations can be made to the Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church.
