Sharon Jo McPherson Thomas, passed away after a long hospital stay. She is survived by her husband of 53 years James David Thomas, son Chad David Thomas (Shelli), grandchildren Emma Thomas and Mack Thomas of Roswell Georgia she will always be their YAYA. Sharon is also survived by her sisters Jan (Bo) Moore of Charleston, S.C. and Melissa (Rudy) Pittman, Nephews Zack (Sally) Pittman, Brett (Brittany) Pittman and their children all from Gainesville, GA.
Sharon began her life in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1946. Her Parents were Thurman “Mac” Brooks and Dorothy LaVerne McPherson. She graduate from Huntsville, Alabama High School and Lambuth College at Jackson, Tennessee, majoring in Business (typed 127 words a minute). She taught typing at Lindley Jr. High School in Austell, Georgia from 1968 to 1970.
Sharon managed apartment complexes, decorated houses and was team mom for Chad’s soccer team, including his high school as her fulltime endeavors.
Sharon dearly loved her mom and Dad. She assisted both in their final medical and assisted living needs she would visit them nightly to have a bowl of popcorn with them and cheer for The Braves to win.
She loved her son Chad making him a priority always. She was the best mom around.
Emma and Mack (her beloved grandchildren) were continuously on her mind. She loved watching them play lacrosse and soccer or just going shopping to find the newest ball or clothing for their sport.
Sharon was a woman of great faith. Her Bible study group was very important to her. Her friends were Debbie, Debbie, and Sandra.
She was a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 24, 2023 from 9 am to 10 am at Roswell Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery and Mausoleum.
