Ron Kaufman passed away from complications of Parkinson’s and other health issues in Cumming, Ga. Despite declining health over the past few years, Ron’s passion for life and his strong will to live kept his life, and quality life, going longer than many doctors predicted.
During Ron’s life, he traveled the world for work, fun and enjoyed every minute! He was one of Delta Airlines highest mileage customers and was treated like royalty when he flew. He always knew the best restaurants and the best item to order off the menu no matter where he traveled. He loved a great NY jewish deli sandwich, big steak dinners from Bones or The Top, Dim Sum or Chicken Lettuce wraps, picking Maryland Blue Crabs, real Italian cooking and stone crab claws from Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami Beach. Ron fell in love with Fripp Island, SC and enjoyed his ocean view beach house for many years. He loved to drive his golf cart around the island, jet ski the waters, eat fresh seafood on his deck while sharing stories with friends.
Ron is survived by his first cousin Zach. In Zach’s words-
"Ron Kaufman, my cousin, grew up in the Bronx, NY. He was a musical soul, loving the sounds of the 50’s and 60’s, even forming and playing drums in a teen band.
He loved the Yankees and as we all did, held our hero the Great Mickey Mantle in high esteem... along with his beloved collection of Corvettes. His generosity was well known by all who knew him. A funny and witty man who was in love with fine food and his abundant wardrobe.”
Ron’s professional career began after graduation from CW Post College and University of Arkansas Law School. He worked for Ross Labs in Columbus, OH from 1971- 1981 as Manager of Sales and Services, then promoted to Wyeth Labs as National Sales Manager. The next 15 years were spent in the health care industry including an executive position at QK Healthcare (VP of Sales from 1996- 2009) where he grew the company to over $1 Billion in sales. His final career stop was Solco Healthcare USA- an industry leader in marketing and distribution of generic pharmaceuticals performing as Advisor of National Sales, reporting directly to the president. Ron retired in Jan 2020.
Rest in Peace Ron, you had a great life, many wonderful memories and a network of friends around the country who will toast you with a great bottle of wine. Ron’s memory may be honored by donations to
