Ralph was born in Atlanta, GA on August 28th, 1927 and was the middle of 3 children.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Edmund, his sister Virginia and his wife, Juanita. He was a fun-loving person who grew up in Atlanta.
He joined the Navy right after graduating from high school. After serving 2 years in the Navy at the end of World War II aboard the Destroyer Escort USS Thomas, Ralph took a job at the Trust Company Bank of Atlanta.
That is where he met his wife, Juanita who moved to Atlanta after she graduated high school. Juanita was the love of Ralph’s life. Juanita and Ralph were married November 11th 1950 and celebrated 67 wonderful years of marriage together.
Ralph took a job at First National Bank of Atlanta where he had a career that spanned 40 years culminating in his position as Vice President of Teller Operations. During his tenure at the bank, he received a certificate of graduation from The School of Banking of The South at Louisiana State University.
Ralph was a faithful disciple of Jesus and a member of the Cumming Baptist Church. He was famous for his amazing and bountiful gardens and steadfast fishing skills due to his unlimited patience.
He was a huge Braves fan and took Larry to the first Brave’s game at Fulton County stadium when he was a kid. “Pops” loved to boat and spent many enjoyable years on Lake Lanier with family and friends. He was a sports fan and loved following all of his grandchildren’s sporting events. Pops was a loving husband, father and grandfather known for his great sense of humor and could always be counted on to pull a prank at family holidays or gatherings.
Ralph is survived by his son, Larry Allen (wife Danielle) and daughter, Debbie Prentice (husband Mike), grandsons: Jason Prentice, Brian Prentice, and Tyler Allen; granddaughters: Jennifer Wilhoit and Aliona Allen and two great grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Collier Prentice.
The family will receive guests at Roswell Funeral Home 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA 30076 at 11:00 am, with Funeral services beginning at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery Roswell, GA.
