He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frances Wright Edmondson and Robert Curtis Fowler; maternal grandfather, Charles Winford Harrison.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Marie Fowler and two daughters, Caroline Marie and Catherine Wright, Alpharetta, GA. Parents, Rhonda and Marty Fowler, Lincoln, AL, sister, Misty Fowler (Boyd) McGehee, Anniston, AL and grandmother, Joyce Gibbs Harrison, Vidalia, GA. Parents-in-law, Janet and Jerry Kroemer, Woodstock, GA, sister-in-law, Diana Lynn (Kevin) Kroemer, Seattle, WA. Nieces, Anna Harrison McGehee, Mary Elizabeth McGehee and Virginia Boyd McGehee, all of Anniston, AL, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Marty was a graduate of the University of Alabama and member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, where he was known as the “One Man Party.” He was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, as well as the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. His passion of cooking was well enjoyed by countless family members and friends. Marty was known as a loyal and genuine friend and was loved and admired by many. Most importantly, Marty was a remarkable husband and father. Those who knew Marty will always remember the day he died as, “The Day the Music Died,” as well as knowing, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”
Due to the pandemic, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
