Margaret "Peggy" Reynolds

Peggy was born October 12, 1950 in Montgomery, Alabama to Mr. Frank Ansley McLean and Mrs. Mary Carolyn Reed McLean. She was raised in Montgomery and attended Robert E. Lee High School. She was a member of Capitol Heights United Methodist Church where she was active in the UMYF. There she met the love of her life, Ed Reynolds. They were married on February 18, 1967.

Peggy followed Ed to Auburn and together they moved ten times living in six states during his 40-year career in the telecommunications industry, but they called “home” Alpharetta, Georgia where they settled in 1989.

Despite loving to fish with her daddy growing up and playing in the dirt with his landscape business, Peggy was the epitome of a girly stay-at-home mom to her girls. She loved to craft, decorate, cook, garden and shop – mostly shop. She never met a shoe, purse or a diamond she didn’t love! She could throw a themed party like no other. Peggy was the Girl Scout leader, Room Mom, PTA President, Band Booster and Dance Mom. After moving to the Atlanta area, Peggy volunteered and chaired events for Hemophilia of Georgia, the Atlanta College of Art and the nsoro Foundation. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends, especially tailgating at Auburn. Despite traveling the world, her favorite vacation was the annual (or more often) trip to the beach with her husband, her girls and their families. She adored her six grandchildren and was looking forward to being a great-grandmother later this year.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ed, as well as her youngest daughter Kimberly (Kim) Epperson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Paul Albers of Woodstock, GA, her son-in-law Derrek Epperson of Opelika, Alabama and six grandchildren: Miller Albers (Katie), Annslee Albers, Reed Albers, Katie Epperson, Kris Epperson and Kyle Epperson and her beloved dachshund, Cami. She is also survived by two sisters who loved her dearly and will sorely miss their “sister time”, Ann McLean Spear of Safety Harbor, Florida and Mary Frank Crew of Prattville, Alabama and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she considered family.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am on January 19, 2024 at the Roswell Funeral Home in Roswell, Georgia followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am with interment at Green Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Miller, Kris, Reed and Kyle as well as her son-in-law Derrek and her nephew, Mac Crew.

Gifts may be made in memory of Peggy Reynolds to the Auburn University Foundation for the Reynolds Family Endowed Scholarship in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering or to the American Diabetes Association as Peggy lived 62 of her 73 years as a Type 1 Diabetic.
