Loris Mary North of Roswell, Georgia, passed away June 3, 2016. A Mass in celebration of her life will be held at Saint Peter Chanel Catholic Church, 11330 Woodstock Rd, Roswell, GA 30075 on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Formerly from Glen Ellen, Illinois and Waukesha, Wisconsin, Loris was born in Chicago on August 28, 1928 to Martin and Marian Mupo. She received her education in Chicago at Mundelien College, the Chicago Art Institute, and the American Academy of Art. With her background in commercial art, she spent several years in advertising with Carson, Pirie, Scott and Co. in Chicago and Thomas Press in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Her work included illustration, lettering, sign, logo, and brochure design. The combined fields of fine & commercial arts influenced her work in graphics and paintings. She had taken part in invitational and juried shows in the Midwest, Canada, and the Southeast received several awards. She was a member and past president (1988 & 1989) of the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance, and member of the Atlanta Artist’s Club. In the Atlanta area, she was associated with Nature’s Gallery, Atlanta, GA., AAC Gallery V, Roswell, GA., Joe Perrin Center for the Arts, Atlanta, GA., and the Heaven Blue Rose Gallery, Roswell, GA.
Loris was married to her loving and devoted husband, Frank North for 65 years. She was the loving mother of Frank North Jr. (deceased), Chuck North (JoAnna), Mary Anne Levine (Mike), Philip North (Karen) and Julie Michaud (Paul). She was the devoted Grandmother of John Martin and Nicholas North, Eli Levine, Geoffrey and Alexandra North, and Emily Michaud. She was the cherished sister of Gloria Martin (Roger), Rita Pryor (deceased) (James), and Sister Mary Anne Mupo.
