Lillian Ella Cochran Brumbelow, age 93, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024. Lillian was born in Union County, Georgia. She met FW Brumbelow, at a dance being held in the log cabin at the old Milton High School. They married on July 7, 1947.
Lillian began a bus service in Roswell, Georgia in the 1960’s for elementary school children not eligible for county transportation. Upon retiring, sheand FW purchased a travel trailer and began traveling to Florida. After the sudden death of her husband, Lillian returned home and began a new business. She had several rental properties she managed.
Lillian continued spending the winters in her favorite retirement community in New Port Richey, Florida, for twenty years.
After selling the family home, Lillian resided in a condominium in Johns Creek, Georgia. She spent the remainder of her life in a beautiful retirement and assisted living community in Gainesville, Georgia.
Lillian enjoyed reading, square dancing, shopping flea markets and playing cards. She even invested in her brother B.C.’s exotic bird business.
Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, FW Brumbelow; parents, Henry Edward and Josephine Cochran; sisters, Felcie Stewart, Oralee Payne, Kathleen Bozeman and baby Francis; brothers, Ted Cochran, B.C. (Babe), Harbert Cochran; and great-grandson Caleb Brumbelow.
Lillian is survived by her son, Steven Brumbelow (Vickie); daughter, Jeannie Holstein (Don); grandchildren, Stephen Brumbelow (Jill), Jonathan Brumbelow (Dori), Amy Ferguson (Steve), Sarah Elliott (Tony), Stephanie Burris (Jim), Mary Holstein, Frank Holstein (Nicole) and ten great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in memory of Lillian Brumbelow.
A visitation for Lillian will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Lillian will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 3605 Jones Bridge Way, Johns Creek, GA 30022.
