James Chamberlain Whitaker, Sr., 84 years of age, resident of Roswell, Georgia, died January 22, 2017. He was born in Memphis, TN is 1932. He met and married his lifelong companion, JoAnn Whitehead in 1952. He graduated from Memphis University and then worked his entire professional career at Kimberly Clark retiring as a Senior Vice-President. Jim was an avid Braves and Falcons fan. He enjoyed attending Sunday School and Church at Lebanon Baptist Church. He was an accomplished woodworker and fisherman. He’s preceded in death by his only son, James Chamberlain Whitaker, Jr. (Jay) who died in 2006. He’s survived in death by JoAnn Whitaker, his wife of 64 years. He has two daughters, Jamie Whitaker Annenberg, and Jean Whitaker Ward, and a son-in-law, Rick Annenberg. He has six grandchildren and five spouses/partners, Whitney James Cabena and Chris Cabena, Emily James and Dan Menke, Ben James and Grier James, Amanda Ward and Peter Olsen, Allison Ward, and Kellen Ward Kuglar and Nick Kuglar. Additionally, he has six great grandchildren.
His service will be held Wednesday, January 25th, 2017 at 2:00PM with visitation from 1:00PM-2:00PM. Graveside Service will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
