Edward Maurice Dobson

Mr. Edward Maurice Dobson, age 47, of Woodstock passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Maurice was born in Huntington, West Virginia on June 29, 1974, the son of Edward Lewis Dobson and Doretha Scott Dobson.

Maurice was a fun, loving guy, never met a stranger and always valued quality time with his family and friends. He was a wonderful, loving husband to his wife of twenty-one years, Mrs. Laura Elaina Dobson, and the two shared a beautiful life together. They met and married in Indianapolis, Indiana and eventually made their way to Georgia for work where they raised their son, Sean Alexander Dobson. Though he only had one child of his own, Maurice was often a father figure or big brother to many throughout his life. Maurice had a passion for collecting cars, racing cars, and working on them as well. He was a wonderful man with a big smile who loved family, friends, and God; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, Maurice is survived by his wife, Laura Dobson and son, Sean Dobson; sister, Shimeka and Marcus Dardy; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy P. Scott; mother-in-law, Pamela White; sister-n-law, Michelle and Rodney Miller; Kimberly and Michael Canada; Rufus Jr. Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

A celebration of Maurice’s life will be held at a twelve-thirty in the afternoon on Monday, February 21, 2022 in the Chapel of Roswell Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from eleven-thirty in the morning until the service hour.
