Claire Riley Haddon, 75, of Suwanee, GA died peacefully September 13, 2012 surrounded by her children and daughter of devoted husband, Paul E. Haddon. Claire was born in Louisville, KY to military parents who provided the family many travels throughout the country, Europe and her particular Favorite, Portugal. Attending Georgetown Visitation while living in Washington D.C., she met her first husband, Dennis Joseph Riley and raised their four children and eventually settled in Atlanta. Her husband of 37 wonderful years died suddenly in 1996. Claire’s life would continue on and found love with Paul Haddon who had been widowed that same year. Paul and Claire would travel the world with one another and enjoy their golden years devoted to each other and enjoy life to its fullest. Claire is survived by her husband, Paul Haddon; children, Maureen (Warren) Smathers, Michael (Connie), Patrick (Angie), and Paul (Catharine); daughter-in-law, Marla (Bob) Washington; grandchildren, Emily & Sean Riley, Kirsten & Eric Riley, Abigael & Reece Riley, great-granddaughter, Eva Grace Riley; sister, Jo Baer. Always close to her were her many friends and neighbors who would visit, call to say hello and share great stories and events- especially her friends from the Johnstown Mortgage group. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 17th at 1pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Alpharetta with a reception to follow in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, they family has asked that a contribution be made to Peachtree Christian Hospice who provided such great compassion to Claire and her family during her brief stay.
