On July 19, 1986 Christy Daniell’s story began. She was welcomed into the world by her parents, Gary and Cindy House. During her first 14 years of life, she gained four siblings: Kimberly, Justin, Julie and David. As the eldest sibling, she led by example with strength, determination, loyalty and love. Christy supported each of her siblings through encouragement and the guarantee that she would always be in their corner. She truly desired the best for her family and never failed to express her desires by actively showing them in love. Christy was not only an incredible sister and daughter but also a devoted aunt to her niece, Addison and her nephew, Emerson. In the eyes of Addison and Emerson, Christy hung the moon. She loved them both as if they were her own children and left an impression on their hearts no one could replace.
Not only was Christy an infectious person to be around - she was driven. Christy excelled in everything she set out to accomplish. She attended Piedmont College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English in the spring of 2009. Christy was loved by her professors and built lifelong friendships with many of her classmates during her time at Piedmont. Following her college graduation, Christy began her career with Verizon Wireless. During her time with Verizon, she was given the opportunity to explore a variety of roles within the company. She was well respected and loved by her coworkers in each avenue she pursued at Verizon.
In October of 2015, Christy married her best friend, Matt Collins. Their life together was full of adventures, traveling around the country and overseas whenever they had the chance. When they weren’t traveling, they enjoyed days spent on the lake or outdoors with their dog, Miles. Picking a dinner spot they both could agree on was a bit of a challenge for them, however, brunch was always a favorite they could enjoy together. Although they both had careers that kept them traveling in different directions, they worked hard to make time with each other at home doing the things they loved most.
Whether with her niece in the middle of the kitchen, alongside her friends and family at the many concerts she attended, or driving down the road listening to the perfect playlist of her favorites, music brought Christy to life and when the music played, she couldn’t help but dance. She didn’t care how silly she looked, she lived in the moment. Her carefree way of dancing through beautiful moments in life brought an abundance of joy and laughter to those who had the honor of sharing such moments with her. It was impossible to spend time with Christy and not feel the warmth of her spirit, warmth that made you feel at home.
Although Christy’s time in this world ended on March 22, 2021, her story will continue through the multitude of lives she touched. Her absence will be felt deeply in the hearts of her friends and family but comfort is found in knowing she is with Jesus in Heaven. As she entered the arms of her Savior, she felt no more pain and no more suffering. Through all the precious memories created in her time with us on earth, we will remember Christy often, but we look forward to the day we join her at the feet of Jesus in Heaven.
Philippians 3:20-21
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”
Christy was preceded in death by grandparents, Bill and Jerry House. She is survived by her husband, Matt Collins; grandparents, Norris and Carol Key; parents, Gary and Cindy House; sisters, Kimberly Moore and Julie House; brothers, Justin House and David House; brother in law, Jacob Moore; niece and nephew, Addison and Emerson Moore; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
